Electric Step through bikes has an increasingly popular unisex frame design with low clearance for mounting as there is no top tube or cross bar – hence the name ‘step through’. Step-through frames allow easier access to the seating position for mounting or dismounting which is great for accommodating injury or mobility issues. Particularly beneficial to those people that are less agile or restricted due to age, mobility or even clothing. So less risk of stretching or tearing clothes when mounting the saddle.

Why do you need an electric step through bike?

Although step-through bikes are great for easy access, the frames are less rigid and tend to flex more than traditional frames because there is no top tube.  This means that they are prone to more duress whilst riding, so to compensate the frames are manufactured with thicker gauge tubing. By converting to electric you further reduce the stress on the bike frame. The electric bike motor also compensates for the additional weight of the thicker frame making your commute a breeze, especially uphill.
